Undergraduate Admissions processes and admits academically qualified students. Enrollment requirements are set by the university and the governing board of the Institution of Higher Learning. What are the requirements for admission?
I have applied and submitted all documents to complete my application. When will I hear from Jackson State University?
Normal processing time is 7-10 business days after all required documents are received in Undergraduate Admissions.
I did not complete high school but I have my GED, can I be admitted?
Yes, you may still qualify for admission. Please provide a copy of your GED transcript, an official copy of your high school transcript showing any coursework completed, and your ACT or SAT scores.
I have never taken the ACT, what can I do?
You may take the Residual ACT at Jackson State University. The scores are official ACT scores, however, the scores may only be used at Jackson State University.
I'm over 25. Do I still have to meet admission requirements?
Yes, we still need a high school diploma or GED transcript and ACT or SAT scores. You may enroll as a non-degree seeking student. To transition from non-degree to degree-seeking, a student is required to complete 12 semester hours with a C or better
