    Antoine Duckett, Grand Prairie

    Antoine Duckett is our 2019 Yolanda Dickey – JSUNAA DFW Chapter Scholarship recipient. Antoine is very happy about the things to come from him furthering his education at Jackson State University. Antoine is very humble and determined to achieve much more in life. Antoine knows the value of family and uses them as his inspiration. He was quoted recently, “I’m very excited. I never thought I would go this far. I never thought I would go to college, but I’m ready to do what it takes to succeed.”

    This Fall Antoine is set to major in Engineering and run track for the JSU Men’s Track team.  He was the Grand Prairie High School Gophers  Varsity Football MVP says he enjoys working with his hands and would like to one day work in the mechanical engineering field. Antoine is the son of Gloria Duckett.

     

     

     

    Bryon Hanspard, DeSoto

    The 2019 JSUNAA DFW Chapter Book Award recipient is Bryon Hanspard. Bryon is a 2019 graduate of DeSoto High School. At DeSoto Bryon was the captain of the DeSoto High School Eagle Football team and also ran track. Bryon will major in Business Administration this Fall at Jackson State University. He has hopes to one day have his own sports agency. Bryon has received several academic accolades and secured an academic scholarship due to his success thus far. Bryon will also be a member of the JSU Tiger Football team. Bryon is the son of  Yolanda and Byron Hanspard.

    Bryon has stated, “earning my degree from Thee Jackson State University will open up a plethora of opportunities and set a big stage for me. I will develop great problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to become an entrepreneur. I will be blessed to connect and establish partnerships that will help me in business. I know the friendships that I gain will last forever.”
